The Campbell Lab is based within the Department of Microbiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Our research operates within a collaborative biomedical community, utilizing state-of-the-art facilities to study enteric pathogens.
We study the colonization, transmission, and pathogenesis of diarrhea-causing bacteria in the mammalian intestine using next-generation sequencing tools. Our goal is to create the knowledge needed to protect vulnerable populations from enteric disease and to engineer safer live bacterial therapeutics.
